A Visit to Rough Point

Today I spent the day touring Rough Point, the Newport home of Doris Duke. Doris Duke was an heiress, a noted preservationist, an animal lover, and a great collector of art from around the world. Rough Point is located on Bellevue Avenue and has a spectacular view of the ocean. Our tour guide was well versed in the antiques and art of the house as well as knowledgeable about the personal side of a woman whose life had its share of tragedy.
